The Challenge

A child's future shouldn't depend on the altitude of their village.

In the high valleys of Nepal, children walk hours through mountain trails to reach one-room schools without books, pencils, or proper desks. Teachers do their best with almost nothing — chalk on a cracked board, a handful of shared textbooks for an entire class.

We believe that geography should never be a sentence. By partnering directly with village schools, we deliver supplies, fund infrastructure, and stand alongside the communities shaping Nepal's next generation.

Our Approach

From your gift to a child's hands — in five steps.

We keep our model lean and direct. No bloated operations, no warehoused promises — just supplies reaching the kids who need them.

1

You Donate

Every gift, big or small, goes directly to school supplies and village partnerships.

2

We Source Supplies

Books, notebooks, pencils, uniforms, and solar lamps — sourced locally in Kathmandu when possible.

3

We Trek In

Our team carries supplies by jeep, mule, and foot to villages off the road network.

4

Schools Receive

Headmasters and teachers receive supplies directly — no middlemen, no overhead.

5

Students Thrive

Children gain the materials to learn, the dignity to stay enrolled, and a path forward.

Impact

What your support brings to the mountains.

Books in Every Hand

We fund full sets of grade-level textbooks so no child shares a single worn copy.

Daily Supplies

Notebooks, pens, geometry sets, and art materials — the small things that make learning possible.

Classroom Repairs

Roofs, desks, blackboards, and solar lighting that turn shelters back into schools.

Teacher Support

Stipends and training materials to keep skilled teachers serving remote villages.

Uniforms & Shoes

So children can walk to school with warmth and pride, even through monsoon and snow.

Direct Partnership

Built with village headmasters — every project shaped by the people who live there.

Where We Stand

Our Story

Why we walk these trails.

Himalaya Schools Project began after a single trek through the Solukhumbu region — a classroom of children sharing one pencil, a teacher who hadn't been paid in months, and a headmaster's quiet question: "Can you help us?"

What began as a duffel bag of notebooks has grown into a community of donors, volunteers, and village partners committed to one simple idea: every child in Nepal deserves a real classroom and the supplies to fill it.
